It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our longtime board member and steadfast supporter, Sydney W. Stearman, who passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

 

Before retiring, Sydney owned Commercial Glass, Inc., located in Maryland. He was a pillar of our association for the 29 years he served on our Board of Directors. His dedication to our mission and his unwavering support of our community left an indelible mark. We have lost not only a visionary leader but a dear friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

 

Sydney is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Denniberg Stearman; his children, Beth (Jake Kriger), Miriam, Amy (Rodrick) Wood, and Eric; his sister-in-law, Nancy; and his cherished grandchildren, Jenna, Jolie, Joseph, and Hanna.

 

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home in Washington, DC, followed by interment at King David Memorial Gardens.

 

In honor of Sydney’s spirit of generosity, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
